Inspired by the old ancient Blackpits area just behind the new Teeling Whiskey Distillery, Teeling Blackpitts Peated Single Malt uses smoke from peat to dry the barley during the malting process, the resulting peated malt produces a distinctive smoky taste profile. Our original Teeling Blackpitts Peated Single Malt is matured exclusively in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-Sauternes casks, while this unique release which has been bottled exclusively for Dufry, focuses solely on the influence ex-Sherry casks have on our Peated Single Malt. By fully maturing our award-winning Peated Single Malt using these barrels, it brings a deep fruity Christmas cake richness that perfectly complements and balances the gentle smoke influence of our Dublin distilled Blackpitts Peated Single Malt. These Sherry casks have been specially selected for their flavour and quality by our Master Distiller Alex Chasko from a small family Bodega in the Jerez area of Spain. Bottled at 46% ABV with no chill filtration, this is a truly different and unique expression of Teeling and Irish whiskey.
